The Adventures in History 2008 program presents "A Historical Tour of Central and the Central Mine" with historians and authors Phil Mason and Larry Molloy, from 10 am to 3 pm on Thursday, July 17. Meet at the Central Methodist Church off US-41. The presentation will be from 10 am to noon followed by lunch from noon to 1 pm and the tour from 1 to 3 pm.Spend the day learning about life in the town of Central and the Central Mining Company. Meet in the basement of the Central Methodist Church at 10 am for a presentation of photographs, maps and other material that give a picture of life in this once bustling mining community. After lunch, take a walk along some of the paths that provide a glimpse of this historic town and the Central Mine. Both of the presenters bring a wealth of research and Keweenaw knowledge to this presentation. Bring a lunch or sign up for a hot pasty and wear comfortable walking shoes.The Adventures in History series in a part of the Outreach and Educational Programs for Children and Adults sponsored by the Keweenaw County Historical Society.
