The Pine Mountain Music Festival presents La Tragedie de Carmen at 3 pm on Sunday, July 13 at the Calumet Theatre at 340 Sixth Street in Calumet.Director Peter Brook's 1981 adaptation of Georges Bizet's Carmen is a theatrical and musical tour de force. La tragedie de Carmen is an emotional and gritty version of the opera that is electrifying in its simplicity and raw power. In this 80 minute version the plot and score have been stripped to bare essentials.
